- Alarm Text: This is the text that the Howler will show when the timer finishes. By default, it is Howl!. If you choose a long string, the text will be resized to fit, and it will therefore appear with a smaller font size.
- Automatically start presets: If this is checked, presets will immediately start when you load them.
- Don't show milliseconds: If this is checked, the milliseconds display will disappear, and Howler Pro will refresh the display less often, resulting in reduced processor usage.
- Disable Growl notifications: If this is checked, growl notifications will not appear (Only relevant if you have growl running on your system).
- Don't show in Menu Bar: This will disable Howler Pro's status bar item in the Menu bar. By default, the most immediate timer will display in the Menu Bar; clicking on it will bring forward the timer.
- Status Bar with Multiple Howlers: When multiple Howlers are running, clicking on the Status bar item will bring up a menu showing the running Howlers. Click on a menu item to bring forward the appropriate timer.
- When Howler Pro is launched: Select the behavior you'd like from Howler Pro when you launch the application.
- Open a Howler: This is the default behavior. When Howler Pro is launched, a Howler window will appear, using the most recent settings.
- Do Nothing: Howler Pro will not show any window upon launch, leaving it for you to create windows of your choice after launch.
- Open Preset ⌘1: Upon launch, Howler Pro will load Preset ⌘1, but not start it.
- Open and Start Preset ⌘1: Upon launch, Howler Pro will load Preset ⌘1 and start immediately.
- Mute all sounds: If checked, Howler Pro will run silently, regardless of the system volume setting. Growl notifications will still appear when timers finish, and Howler Pro will bounce in the dock if another application is active.
- Suppress Countdown: If checked, the countdown sound will not play. The countdown sound will otherwise play once per second for the last 10 seconds of the timer countdown.
- Custom Sounds: Here, you may manage custom sounds for your Howlers if you do not wish to play the default sounds. New timers will use the sounds selected here, but you may override the sounds on a per-Howler basis within each Howler's options screen.
- Alarm/Countdown Combo box: This combo box is populated with previously selected sounds from your drive, as well as a few other options. If you select a custom sound or a Default one, it will be set as the default setting for new Howlers.
- Select another sound... Selecting this item will allow you to browse your computer for a sound file for use with Howler. After you make a selection, it will be added to the list and selected.
- Clear custom sounds: Selecting this item will remove all items from the list except the default items. This can't be undone.
